I have a couple images that i am trying to upload to my library for one of my users.
When he attempts to send them up, it fails but all it says is  "0 pictures Uploaded succesfully" turnign on debug mode shows no errors as well.

I have tried all the appropriate changes suggested here, but it still wont work. My php.ini timeout is 600 seconds now, in case you are wondering my cache size is much larger than the size of the image.

I am stumped...if I edit the pic and lower the file size from 3.1MB to a lower figure then it works...

Here are the two phoos in question:

This normally happens due to the memory required by the image lib when making the thumb and intermediate pics.  The pixel size of the pic is more relevant than the quality/actual filesize.  If your memory_limit and post_max_size may need to be increased, if you have the ability.
On one of my sites, I could upload pics of 3mb if I allowed it, but the other struggles with anything over 1000x750px, even when quality is reduced so the file size is under 150kb.  The same server can cope happily with the same pic, reduced to 800x600, but saved at a higher quality, and higher file size.

Note, unless you are wanting them for prints, why do you want pics that size on the net anyway?
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

SaigonK

Thanks for the tips, I will make some php adjustments and see if it changes.

They are for prints and for people he knows to download to save to DVD.

Looks like my PHP setting for memory limit was set to 10MB, doing the math calculation, the images in question need 19MB of memory to process...
Once the change is made I will report the results.

SaigonK

Well..that didnt work, i upped it to 20mb and no such luck!

SaigonK,

Please read 'General Upload Troubleshooting'.  Remember that multiple uploading masks errors to allow, but you can unmask them by dropping to 'Single uploads only' in the Groups console.

I am not doing multiple uploads, only one image at a time.
Also, i have tried it via the web interface and via the XP Publishing client, the same problem arises.

I have made all pertinent changes as suggested by Casper and it still wont work...

If you are seeing the message '0 files uploaded successfully', you are still within the MultiHTTP cycle, even if you are only uploading one file at a time. Changing the settings in the groups console changes the entire program path.

If your webhost is running a *nix server, have you asked the what the PHP's LimitRequestBody is set to? It could be set to somewere around 3 MB.

SaigonK

I will ask about  LimitRequestBody  what should it be set to for images this large?

hyperion

It should be set to the size of the image plus a little extra for the other form fields.

Hello,

I have no such setting in my php config. Where would it be or would it need to be added?

hyperion

Its a server setting, not a php.ini setting.  It is often found in /etc/http/conf.d when using Apache on Linux.

Changed that as well and still no luck. It wont take the file, it still says 0 files uploaded successfully.

Joachim Müller

Do as Hyperion suggested and set your gallery to single upload mode. Re-posting problems without at least trying to do what the supporters say often lead to the supporters ignoring you.

SaigonK

Dont assume I didnt try that as well.
I have my gallery set to accept one image upload, and it still doesnt work. I have changed every setting mentioned with no luck.

"No file was uploaded !
If you have really selected a file to upload, check that the server allows file uploads..."

If i upload via ftp and then do a "batch add" it works just fine.
Any help is appreciated.

hyperion

SaigonK,

I really can't think of any other reasons you would have this problem, but I still suspect a server setting somewhere, as the limit remains constant around 3.1MB.  I would look at Apache's conf.d and httpconf files again to see if there might be another limit somewhere that could be casuing the issue.  At this point, I refer you to Google. Sorry.  If you do find out what is causing the problem, please let us know so we can add it to our troubleshooting data.
