Dynamic Filmstrip

Please excuse my bad english and feel free to correct it! 

I wonder if it was possible to make the filmstrip dynamic.
I would like to have two arrows "Next" and "Previous" next to the filmstrip.
When you move your mouse over one of these arrows the thumbnailrow moves smoothly left or right.
Would this be possible?

Now that would be a very good item to build into a future version of coppermine. Some of my users have been asking this because it is sometimes annoying having to switch back to album view to see the rest of the pictures.
