Can someone please tell me where to download the classic theme it does not appear to come with
version 1.512 ?

If you go to the Download page there's three versions of the classic theme to download.  http://sourceforge.net/projects/coppermine/files/Themes/1.5.x/
Running SMF 2.1.4  / Tinyportal 3.0.1, bridged with Coppermine 1.6.25, plus cpmfetch 2.0.0
