Hi folks,

I have upgraded from an ancient version (well tried at least) to the latest version of CPG. I uploaded all files and folders (apart from the albums folder). I then ran the update.php script and everything went smoothly. No error message, no nothing. Then I tried the links at the bottom of this script (check your file versions and go to your gallery's start page).
Both return a Fatal Error message with no further indications.

Looking again at the manual I saw (I skipped it at first) that upgrades from old versions should first upgrade to 1.4. I just did this, uploading the files and running the update script again. Runs fine, no error message but then trying to go to the home page returns the same dreaded error message 'Fatal Error'.

I tried reading many other posts on the matter but cannot seem to see the like. It's probably somewhere on the forum though (I doubt being the first one facing this issue).

Could somebody point out the solution ?

Many thanks,

Αndré

enable debug mode manually via PHPMyAdmin. Open the 'config' table and change 'debug_mode' to '1'.

aglae

Done! set to debug.
What should I do now ?

Thanks

QuoteWhile executing query "delete from `raphael.gely`.rgpics_sessions where time<1313675837 and remember=0;" on Resource id #5

mySQL error: Incorrect database name 'raphael.gely'

Adjust the database name in include/config.inc.php and/or verify the database does exist at all.

aglae

The config.inc.php is identical to the one backed up from the previous install.

Another advice to where I should be looking ?

Thanks.

aglae

Added the domain name and it seems a little better now.
Some characters look garbaged but I will do more testing.
Thanks for the help. I'll post a new message later on to let you know if everything is ok now.

thanks again

aglae

Now I get : mySQL error: Unknown column 'owner_name' in 'field list' when trying to display a gallery.
Any idea ? It seems pretty obvious but I don't know much about managing that kind of stuff.

Thanks

You're running cpg1.4.x files with a cpg1.5.x database. You need at least upload the cpg1.5.x files to your webspace. Please read the upgrade docs carefully!

aglae

I have updated the newest files and I am still getting the same error message. Any idea where I could check ?
Thanks.

Αndré

You're still running cpg1.4.x!

All right something had gone wrong. Reuploaded all files and launched update script again. Seems to work better although i have to refresh several times the page before it finally does not return a 500 error.

Now it is probably due to the theme I was using but now I don't see how I can log as an admin to setup the site with a 1.51 theme that I have uploaded ?

Thanks

Αndré

Either you access the login page and the configuration directly:

...or you temporarily use the curve theme by using the theme parameter:
(note: that doesn't change the default, but just the theme in your browser)

aglae

All right, thanks once again.
We're getting to it.
The theme although downloaded in the right download section for this version (dm_halloween) does not seem to work correctly. However something more painful... when trying to upload pics to the right album through the ftp feature (web interface), it seems to be uploading to the collection I choose (green circle icon) but when I go back to the Album it shows 0 pictures.

Thanks,

Αndré
