hi. my gallery is brand new. I just created it and bridged it with my french vbulletin forums.
As vbulletin, my header and footer files are all in Latin1 (western windows, ISO-8859-1) I so set coppermine.

Yet for a reason I don't know non-ascii chars are not displayed properly.
Any idea?

Please post a link to your gallery and describe where we can find those characters in your gallery.

Thank you André. I will do so as soon as I am done with mass-importing. I had to break the bridge or it won't work.
Hopefully 24 hours and I'd be back to you on this.

Hello André and anybody who can help.

Here you go
http://forumislam.com/galerie/

if you look towards the bottom of the page for example, you would see this screencapture.

the gallery language is set to French-Français ISO 8859-1

I forgot to mention that setting the character encoding to unicode does fix the display of french characters, but of course then my header and footer (encoded in iso-8859-1) would not show anymore the proper french characters.

So we're just talking about the "Who's online" block?

No André. It is every single french special character such as à è ê î â ô

Sorry, I overlooked the other issues, like

I just set my gallery to French language with French encoding and the same text block looks correctly in my gallery:

I recognized that the HTML source also doesn't display the multibyte characters properly. Please check again your language files and check what happens when you re-upload a fresh copy from the Coppermine package to your server.

Hi. I just right now downloaded a fresh copy of the software using the download link on the top of this page.
I uploaded the zipped package to my linux centos server and unzipped via shell overwriting all.

S73 just sent me an email that he fixed the problem by converting the French language file to iso-8859-1.

Marking thread accordingly.
