Hey folks,

I don't see where this has been posted before as a specific request .. but would it be possible? I'd like to drop the plugin for SEO friendly urls, as it's ridiculously bad. But I would like to be able to write custom permalink urls for at least categories and albums, and possible even image display pages as well.

So rather than have an automated setup, like the plugin tries to do, have a field that allows me to write a custom permalink. Wordpress does this easily, and if I write a permalink already being used, it simply adds a "-2" to the end of the new one, etc, to avoid conflicts.

I'm beginning (slowly) to understand how cpg works a little differently, so it may not be possible without major overhaul for the image display pages .. but the album and categories should be straight forward, no?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

I doubt this will become a core feature, as it probably causes some trouble. Regarding categories and albums it might be straightforward, but at least meta albums needs some elaboration.

Hey André

Thanks for letting me know. The more I thought about it, the more I thought that might be the case. The meta albums aren't very critical for my needs, and google doesn't seem to like them much anyway, but I understand that isn't the case for some people But the categories and albums it would be a great help, I think.

Cheers - Happy New Year!

Better to create a plugin. Advantage: you can even create it for cpg1.5.x and it's easier to maintain.

Walkinman

That would be even better. Should I post a request in the plugin page, or just "sit tight and hope"?

Thanks

I personally won't create such a plugin. Either you create it yourself or ask for help.

Walkinman

Oh, there's no way I could create it. I wouldn't know where or how to start. I will ask in the freelance's forum, or is there a plugin request option somewhere?

Cheers

Carl
