Hi

I ask for help to make a suitable gallery for my building company. www.funksjonell.no
If this implementation will be good, I also plan to use in another sites also.

Since I don't know how coppermine is working I only have ideas, as follow:

- Gallery works for PC and for smartphones
- I hope Lightroom ftp upload can do it because that's what I use today.
- Ftp upload: Automatic make gallery according to directory, EXIF, move or picture.

Extra if possible:
- Web upload: upload to server and automatic make gallery according to directory, EXIF, move or picture. If possible also have a Upload GUI so user can choose from drop down directory path like
"ProjectName" + "GalleryName", + sub gallery description. This will give this path:

"ProjectName" = DagsVei (drop Down)
"GalleryName" = Ground work (drop Down)
"Sub gallery" = Digging (text field)
www.Funksjonell.no/gallery/ProjectName/GroundWork/Digging

I prefer that uploaded pictures will be compressed and resized on server, since one of my users wants to upload, and he is not so skilled in editing pictures.

See www.funksjonell.no/gallery/GUI.pdf and PLEASE if you have another solution that seems better, don't hesitate to inform me :-)

In GUI.pdf I describe some use som exif info, this I'm not 100% shure if I gona use, so maybe it can be enabled/disabled per gallery.

The budget... I'm not sure, I have not done this before, but maybe I can get a hint?

Regards
Torstein

Coppermine does have many of the features you are looking for - either in base code or 'plugin' additions.
Looking at your requests one at a time:

QuoteGallery works for PC and for smartphones
Coppermine certainly does...

QuoteI hope Lightroom ftp upload can do it because that's what I use today.
FTP upload (followed by batch add) is supported.. more below

QuoteFtp upload: Automatic make gallery according to directory, EXIF, move or picture.
CPG expects after the FTP upload that an admin will run batch add - choosing the folder and the album to add it to.. Only images not already in an album would be added (so same folder can be added to with new set of pictures easily.)
Automating this step would be new work with some means (time?) to trigger a process to look for new files and add.

QuoteWeb upload: upload to server and automatic make gallery according to directory, EXIF, move or picture. If possible also have a Upload GUI so user can choose from drop down directory path like
"ProjectName" + "GalleryName", + sub gallery description. This will give this path:

"ProjectName" = DagsVei (drop Down)
"GalleryName" = Ground work (drop Down)
"Sub gallery" = Digging (text field)
Categories and albums can be created to form the structure you want.  Groups of users can be given the ability to upload to those. They would select the category/album from a dropdown and choose the pictures to upload. Files uploaded this way go into a 'userpics' folder (sorted by user and optionally album) - they would be visible like any other photo in the album.

QuoteI prefer that uploaded pictures will be compressed and resized on server, since one of my users wants to upload, and he is not so skilled in editing pictures.
Coppermine does resize uploaded photos (ftp or upload) to match config settings for thumbnail and intermediate pictures... Though uploading a 10MP picture and having the server resize is a consumer of time and resources... While CPG can do it - your server may timeout processing a large number of photos.
Uploading a reasonable size is recommended (1200-2000 pixels is what I typically use) - and CPG will adjust to the exact settings you want.

QuoteIn GUI.pdf
The layout you describe is easily achievable with examples like:
Category: DagsVei -> Album: Ground Work
or
Category: DagsVei -> Category: Ground Work -> Album: Digging
depending on level of detail...
You can mix/match like:
DagsVei -> Ground Work -> Digging
             -> Foundation
             -> Structure -> Walls
                               -> Roofing
just as examples... The far right is an album, the rest categories...

Videos don't generate thumbnails automatically - but there is (plugin) the ability to add a 'custom thumbnail' for a video...
Videos can be directly added to the gallery - or there is (plugin) support to incorporate videos from youtube and others.

You don't mention theme at all - Coppermine comes with a handful of themes 'out of the box' with many many more available for download on our site. Finding one that meets your needs (or is at least close) can save you time/money...
You can see many of the themes in the demo at http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg15x/
Minor changes like adding your banner on top isn't hard...

It looks like you have a simple gallery today that I assume you want to pull into this as well.

Ideally I would suggest installing a copy of Coppermine to see what it can do for you and help refine what you need.  A clean install is very simple to do... Would help you be able to define requirements - which would help anyone interested in trying to suggest a price...

Hope that helps...
Greg
Thanks!
