first of all let me say that if this is the wrong category for this thread then I'm sorry, and can you please tell me where i need to be? thank you

okay so this is my problem:

i download coppermine cpg15x
i export the files
i upload them into filezilla
i place them in my file manager folder public_html/ on my cpanel on siteground
i then try using the url of my website/name of file/install.php or website/name of file/index.php

i always seem to get the message page not found :0(

i don't know if I'm entering the wrong site address or not

i have used my server/host name and my actual website address but they still don't work.

if anyone can tell me where i have gone wrong, i would be so grateful as i have been up for the last two days trying to work this out haha

thank you

Jeff Bailey

Are you uploading the cpg15x directory to the public_html directory or the files in the cpg15x directory to public_html.

example.com/cpg15x/install.php or example.com/install.php

You'll have to provide a link or a screenshot of filezilla for better detail.

hello, thanks for replying.

first of all, i have now got myself a coppermine gallery through the site host SITEGROUND..they have provided me with an ip for the gallery. so i have now solved that problem :0)

second of all - i would like to know how i can now customise this gallery as it wasn't installed the manual way from my end.

the gallery looks like this:

10. One question per thread
We have a strict "One question/issue per thread rule", which helps both supporters/moderators to keep track of open/closed issues as well as users who search the board or browse it, looking for answers to their question.

TinkerBelleTardis

okay i have read all the links you and jeff have provided.

may i just say that yes, i was a little impatient when reading the rules and may have slipped a little when posting here e.g. pics/links/different questions. as i have stated in my first question...i am BRAND NEW at this, so I'm sorry for not following the rules perfectly.

second of all, can you please provide me with a link to the right thread where i can post my question about changing my design without the use of manual installation, instead of just telling me that this isn't the right one? would be much appreciative. thanks.

don't mean to sound rude, its just this is really starting to frustrate me, I've been working on this for two months now and getting nowhere, so I'm sorry that i sound curt.

If you are talking about customizing the way your site looks, it is in the Theme documentation I provided:
http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/theme.htm
http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/theme_create.htm
http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/theme_examples.htm

If you just want to change your theme to a pre-made one:
Built-in
http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/theme.htm#theme_builtin
http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/configuration.htm#admin_theme
User Contributed:
http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/board,95.0.html
http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/theme_user-contributions.htm#theme_user-contributions

If you have a specific question on what you would like to change please post in cpg1.5 themes (visuals):
http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/board,94.0.html

We also are not trying to sound rude, we only ask that you read/search though the documentation/previous posts and that you read the rules before posting. We are happy to answer your questions and as a courtesy also provided a link to the rules and documentation with those answers, please return the favor by reading them. We are all volunteers here that started off the same as you are now.
