It seems that, for some reason, the affected files got added twice (same file path and name, but different picture ID). So what we now see is not related to the albums keyword feature.

Please create a new test album. Additionally, please create a new test folder on your server, upload some files and batch-add them to the new test album. Do you still/always get duplicates? If so, please again create a test album, new test folder and test files and try if it happens when you use the Coppermine default theme "curve": http://ryanpaeveynet.com/gallery/?theme=curve

Have you installed any plugins or applied modifications? If so, please (temporary) disable/remove them and try again.

Yasmin86

André:

I just tried again. Successfully uploaded about 3 or 4 albums before it happened again (this album: http://ryanpaeveynet.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=126)

Tried with the curve theme with a new album and new pictures, still got duplicates (see attachment). This album: http://ryanpaeveynet.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=122

I don't have any plugins. Haven't modified any core coppermine files as far as I know. Just installed as usual and added the custom theme.

Αndré

Please provide a zip package which contains files where it happens always, so we can test and maybe reproduce it ourselves.

Yasmin86

I'm terribly sorry, but I don't understand what you mean with "files where it happens always"? The files I uploaded that became duplicates?

Αndré

Yes. I doubt that your files are the cause, but we need to be sure.

Yasmin86

Ok, here you go, the ones I added in here got duplicated :)

Sometimes the hosting provider moves your website to another server or the server had a crash etc and the coppermine files got corrupted.
I think replacing (overwrite) the coppermine files with new ones may help. She only has to download coppermine and upload all files but not the albums, docs, images and themes directory and anycontent.php, then run update.php.
Is not so hard.
How to overwrite: http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/upgrading.htm#upgrade_any

What do you think? Could be a corrupted files problem?

I forgot IMPORTANT: the include folder has config.inc.php.
If you delete that then you will cry. Do not delete the entire include folder.

Both images have the same name (i002.jpg), show in the same folder (albums/television/general hospital/2015/january/january 5) but they show twice in the same album (January 5, 2015) . Plus they have diffrent image pid id.

Could be a corrupted database?
Maybe her host provider has a backup of the database before the day the duplicates start happening.
On my host I had the possibility to restore the database from a older backup they saved for me.

I just batch-added your provides files to my server and they were added just once (no duplicates). Please do as allvip suggests and overwrite all Coppermine updates like you'd do during an update.

If it still doesn't work, you can check the following:
1. Download your whole gallery and database to your local computer and check if the issue also occurs there.
2. Install a second test gallery on your server and and check if the issue also occurs there.

Yasmin86

Ok, I'll update it! Should I be uploading the "albums" part from the latest version too, or will that erase all the pics I've uploaded so far? (I'm using Transmit FTP)

Αndré

Please have a look at the upgrade documentation.

Yasmin86

Yes, it says:

"In fact, you could upload the albums folder as well - the one that is contained in the package is empty anyway. The recommendation not to upload this folder is only meant as a pre-caution for some users who have "funny" settings for their FTP apps: some exotic FTP applications delete folders existing on the server and then re-create an empty folder on the server-side. This would of course be a disaster for all existing galleries during the upgrade process, as you would lose all your uploaded files in your gallery. However, the number of FTP apps that is set up in that strange way is small and therefore, it won't hurt for most to upload the albums folder as well. If you're not sure, use one of the FTP clients recommended by the devs."

And Transmit isn't on the list. I don't think Transmit is very "exotic", but I'll just don't for now then.

I got this error message. Does this have anything to do with anything? Should I just open my local include folder and upload the things inside instead of the folder itself?

Αndré

Please use one of our recommended FTP apps, e.g. FileZilla, as there's no need to remove any directory for an upgrade.

Yasmin86

I've tried installing FileZilla 4 times now, restarted my laptop and everything, but it freezes here every time. Man, I'm just having bad luck all around....

You should contact your webhost for this.
I belive your hosting provider is http://www.hostdime.com/.
They have 24h live chat support.

If FileZilla won't work then make a folder named new in your gallery folder and upload cpg1.5.34.zip, then extract the zip archive (I don't know if your webhost has that option).

Move all files from the folder new to gallery folder (to overite the files) but not the albums, docs, images and themes directory and anycontent.php, then type in your browser http://ryanpaeveynet.com/gallery/update.php.

Don't move all at once. First the bridge folder, then the css etc. Step by step so you will make it without problems. At the end you can delete the new folder.

My webhost is Surpass.

I just got an email from them:
QuoteHello,

We received an unauthorized support request from the following contact that was attempting to receive support with deleting the include directory from your gallery directory for a coppermine gallery.
http://ryanpaeveynet.com/gallery/

Reason for editing: is my private email.

Question: I can not delete a directory (folder).

I would suggest that if this individual is going to continue to put in support requests, that you add the user(s) to your Authorized contact list so that they may receive support in the future.

Now I'm stressing out a little. Who is?

I am and I told them that I am from coppermine and ask them to help you.

Yasmin86

Oh, ok, good. Lol. I can add you to the authorized contacts list so you can receive support.
