Most albums on my website, retinagallery.com, have files all of which need the same title.  Is there a plugin or method to add a title, description, and tags, to all files in an album at once?  That would save me a lot of time.

Thanks,
Steven Cohen

There is no plugin or method that I know of.

I tossed the attached file together for you. Place it in the root of your CPG installation. Make sure you are logged in as admin, then access the site as: <site url>/retitle.php

I did not test this on CPG 1.5.20, but I believe it should work for you.  You really should update your site to the latest version of CPG (1.5.38). And, for the future, if you use the HTML5 Upload Plugin (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,75927.0.html), it will allow you to title all images the same during upload.

[edit] Added capability to bulk set Title, Description or Keywords.
[update] Added version for CPG 1.6.x

That works perfectly.  I appreciate the help.  I uploaded using the Flash uploader and this still worked.  At the risk of seeming greedy, is there a similar script that could bulk add a description to all files in an album?

All the best,
Steve

Changed the file (above) to do title and/or description and/or keywords (just leave blank what you don't want changed).

Probably a good addition to the admin tools for cpg1.6.x (with the option of selecting a specific or all albums).

I appreciate the help.  Can you make one more edit to the script?  When I use it on my website, I have 905 albums.  It doesn't order the albums alphabetically or by date.  So I have to search through the list for the album in order to edit the file titles and descriptions.  Can you make it order the albums either alphabetically or by data added with the most recent on top?

Thanks you,
Steve

Done.  No more requests, please.

Update CPG on your site and use the HTML5 Upload Plugin.

I did a slight modification to the script and tested it.  This file lists all the albums in the site alphabetically.  For my site with a lot of albums, it is a little easier to navigate than the original script.

Thanks for all the help.

Sorry, Steve, you may have misunderstood.  By "Done." in the above post, I meant that I had finished making the changes to the file to sort the albums for you ;)

Your file doesn't have the keyword modification feature that I had added, either.

Thank you.  I feel kind of like a jerk.  I appreciate the help.  I thought by done you meant I need to stop asking for stuff.
I'm through asking for stuff on this and I am very thankful.
Have a good Thanksgiving.
All the best,
Steve
