I recently installed cpg1.6 and am unable to login to my administrator account. When I use the "I forgot my password", I just get this error: "Critical error The password reminder email can't be sent!"

It would appear that you (or someone helping you) installed a CPG 1.6 instance and then tried to use (or copy) the database from your older CPG 1.5.13 gallery. You should have updated that older gallery to a later version (1.5.48) first.
You can try using this method to reset your password.
