problems with installation

i got problem getting cpg to work..
ive chmod the dirs to 777. filled in user name and mysql info and pressed next. then i just end up at a blank page, with no errors. how come?

When I installed mine, I had to chmod my PHP files as well.  Mine were all 666, which doesn't allow you to 'execute' the files.  I chmod'd to 755.  But that might not have been the best number to choose.  But everything then worked.  DId you use Fantastico?  I had to reinstall over my Fantastico, wasn't the most recent ver...

Fantastico is causing problems; using the fantastico package is not recommended by the coppermine dev team.

dont even now what fantastico is :s

i tried to chmod to 755. didnt help much..

my problem is:
when i enter the setup face, where im supposed to enter all database info then im supposed to click next. but nothing happens, i end up at a white page..
