Greetings,

I am new to this board and new to Coppermine in general. I believe I have successfully installed all files, but my problem tells me otherwise.

When viewing the board and attempting to configure settings found under the 'Groups' tab, I cannot seem to save the changes. When I attempt to do so, I get the following message:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: '' (ASCII=15) state=1 in /web/cgi-bin/php on line 2405

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '@' in /web/cgi-bin/php on line 2405

Can anyone be of assistance, I did not have luck in searching for this issues in pre-exisitng threads.

Thank you!

Joachim Müller

your file(s) have been corrupted. Get a fresh coppermine package, unzip it and upload it to your webserver, overwriting the files on your server. Make sure to upload with the proper ftp-mode.

Thank you for your reply. I have done this already, but for the sake of making sure I just did it again. I have uploaded everything accordingly paying attention to how it should be uploaded. I have chmod the proper folders and am sure I have done that correctly. But still the problem persists. I get this same exact error when trying to create a catagory. Are there any other suggestions?

I just tried to make and save changes in the config section and again I get the same error as seen in my initial post.

Yes, I have uploaded all non image files in ASCII and all image files in binary. I am using WS_FTP95 LE.

Joachim Müller

try uploading all files in binary mode, just to test.

Try the versioncheck.php file that comes with coppermine 1.3.2 and see what info it returns.

I haven't yet tried uploading everything in binary just yet. However, in the error it reads:

/web/cgi-bin/php on line 2405

But I got to thinking. In my directory, I don't have anything /web/cgi-bin/php. I do have a cgi folder, but nothing else. I tried renaming the cgi folder to cgi-bin and adding a php folder inside of it and that didn't work either. I am using hosting provided by GoDaddy.com.

There are known issues affecting GoDaddy's php setup, search the board for 'GoDaddy'.
