I have upgraded from1.3.3 to 1.4.4 however some of the tables in the database are still prefixed with cpg133 such as  cpg133_sessions, cpg133_usergroups , etc..
Does this point to a faulty upgrade?

No, that's normal. The prefixes are just names, you could as well have selected gallery_ during install.
