How to avoid redundant category/album naming?

Hi,
I have 3000+ pics that I want to add to a coppermine album. Is there any way to get around the tedious creation of an incredible number of categories and albums manually? In other php albums, they auto-load directly what is in the albums directory.

i have also a tons of albums, 200 and growing, and it would be much easier updating them with just uploading the stuff instead of uploading & update every album manually...
