Adding php script to theme (Help!)

Hello ,

I want to add Random Quote script  in theme . I tried to add at template.html. It didn't appear on it. Php didn't work on .html extension rite ? So I tried to find another way. There's theme.php in theme folder.  But how can i do it ?. Can i know how to add ? Thank you.
