Upload Failure - './albums/edit/' error message

Hi There
when i try to upload pictures i got this message: coppermine Upload Failure - './albums/edit/'
then i chmod the edit and userpics folders to 777
so is it good idea to chmod them to 777?

or there's more secrured permission for this?
