Server transfer problem

hey guys,
i have moved one site, and its gallery, from one server to another.
The old one had mysql 3.223 as the new one has mysql 5. Actually i made the proper db dump and changed the permissions not only to 777 but allowed the proper user.  I can see the album thumbs in the first gallery screen but when i get inside i have a "selected image/album not present into the db" error, and i can't log in though the passwords are correct.
What can it be? Thanks in advance for your kindness and reply.

Update your gallery. 1.3.0 is ancient and no longer supported.

i will do, but maybe i'd also like to know what happened... i hoped for a more extensive reply
anyway, i take advantage of your kindness a last time: where do i find full instructions for proper upgrade support?

Your new server runs PHP5, which Coppermine 1.3 does not work very well on.
