I have abandon my old Gallery Coppermine 1.3 and installed a new Coppermine 1.4.9 to the same server. Can I bridge this new gallery cpg 1.4.9 to that older version of cpg 1.3 "left behind" (and closed for picture uploads).

Bridging is ment to connect cpg to a other programma, for example Joomla. Not ment for " bridging"  two cpg's together. Better move your "abandoned pictures" to your new cpg or upgrade the old installation (which is described in the docs).

How can I transfer the the currant memberlist from "the old" gallery cpg 1.3 to the new gallery cpg 1.4.9

Would be easier to just update the old gallery to 1.4.19 than to try to transfer things over.

But is it possible and how? I am not interested of continue the old gallery. Only interested in preserve the memberlist from that gallery for use in the new gallery

Yes, just follow the upgrade procedure as outlined in the docs.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
