MySQL error while installing

Hello,
I'm installing coppermine, following the instructions. I created a MySQL Database on my server, chose a username and password. Everything in the installation went fine until I got to the installation wizard page. I get asked for MySQL Database name, username and password. I've typed in exactly what I used to create the database, but I get an error message:

Could not create a mySQL connection, please check the SQL values entered

MySQL error was : No such file or directory

Anyone can help me on this?
