Account activation being sent to old URL

I recently transferred my gallery to a new hosting company, together with a new URL.  The transfer appeared to be OK but I have now found a problem.  The new registrations are admin activated, which sends an email to myself (being the admin) and a link to activate the new account.  Unfortunately the link is the old URL and if activated it throws up a "The requested URL /gallery/register.php was not found on this server"

How can this be corrected?
