SEF URLs for cpg1.6.x

[Timos-Welt]

Makes SEF URLs for index, thumbnails, and displayimage.php. (Apache webserver only!)
Warning: this plugin is still experimental, there are known issues when using it. Test thoroughly and use at your own risk.
When getting unexpected results, disable the plugin and remove the .htaccess file the plugin creates manually (using your FTP app).

German/french/spanish/italian localisation:
!!!DANGER! Only do this if you know exactly what you are doing!!!!

To change english short URLs to german/french/spanish/italian SEF URLs, first uninstall the plugin. Then open codebase.php and find this line (it's twice in there):
$sef_language = 'english';
and change both lines to
$sef_language = 'german'; or $sef_language = 'french'; or $sef_language = 'spanish'; or $sef_language = 'italian';
Then install plugin again and overwrite existing .htaccess.

Please note that french and spanish support are experimental.

Hello I recently noticed that using this plugin causes a 500 error, I have always used a SEF plugin and the site is quite old being 14 years online so google has many links directed to these SEF urls, so turning off the plugin would break all those links which people find the site through.

If I'm logged in, I can seem to view the gallery fine but if I'm not logged in it gives me a 500 error. I only have two plugins installed and been able to determine that is the SEF plugin causing it. In the known issues notes it says custom thumbnails causes issues but that is not the other plugin I use. I can have SEF as the only plugin installed and will do this.

I have tried to uninstall the plugin, delete the htaccess file and reinstall but still gives me the same error. The main gallery page works fine it when you try to view a album that using SEF that get the 500 error.

The problem is with your theme. It is not compatible with CPG 1.6.x

You will need to make changes to it:

... or use a different theme.
