Sort picture by EXIF date

I have been looking for a functionnality to sort pictures by their exif date (when it exists) for some time now. I saw that this was underway and lately even saw that http://coppermine-gallery.com/forum/index.php?topic=9360.0 gave a try at it.

The problem with that one is that ALL the existing pictures need to be seen at least once to generate exif date in the database. I have too many of them to show them all (unless there is an automated way to see them all...

Is it planned to include such a exif date functionality in an upcoming standard version of Coppermine? If yes, what is the plan / timing?

It would be fairly easy to write a script that will grab the EXIF data for all photos in the database.  I haven't installed that mod yet, but I can work on it this weekend.
