what is the easiest and quickest way to remove the option of having user galleries altogether? i simply want to host my own pictures and not have to worry about users trying to upload their own.

Check your coppermine config screen the option is in there
There are 2 kinds of users in this world: satisfied and complainers.
Why do we never hear something from the satisfied users?
