I have a question regarding Coppermine Photo Gallery v1.1.0 - I've been using this gallery script for about 6 months and have not been able to figure out how to get Image Magick to resize GIF files.

I've been trying an alternative way of uploading GIF files (and for the script to resize them) but it doesn't let me :(.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Your query should've been posted to the CPG1.1 forum then - moved it for you. I've forgotten how far IM supports GIF files (sorry, it's 2AM here) but is there any reason why you're using GIF files for photos?

I run a "humor" website and need some of the photos to be GIF because they are animated and because I can't get Coppermine to support the GIF's, there are no animated pics at all in any of my galleries. :(

the keyword is "animated". I'm no IM expert, but I doubt this will work.

Can't resize an animated GIF using GD or IM I'm afraid. In fact I don't know many desktop software that supports this (there are, just not many). If it's a feature you want, it would have to be up to IM/GD devs for the possibilities

as a workaround: create a non-animated gif out of one frame of the animated gif, upload it to coppermine (so it'll get integrated into the db and the thumb/intermediate is created), then ftp-upload the animated gif (overwriting the non-animated one).

You'll need to check with the guys at Image Magick.  (imagemagick.org)

I seem to remember something there about working with animated GIFs, but I didn't give it much thought at the time.

I just tried and Animated gifs works.
Also the thumb is animated and each frame is resized.

This is rather interesting. I have just switched to IM to test and yes I can confirm this works. My apologies.  :? *goes into reading IM stuff*
