Limit Category to certain users

Is it possible to hide a category unless a user has permission to see it?

For example, I have a category for "holiday snaps", one for "art" one for "screen shots". I don't want anyone outside my family to see the holiday snaps category. I can only seem to set folders, so people can see the category is there, but not whats in it, which isn't too great.

This was also an issue with 1.3.x and it was my understanding that it would be corrected/addressed in this version.
I had a partial fix for the old version but have not deciphered the 1.4 code yet.
