Like on this site, where the gallery viewers are not allowed to register, login, upload their own photos, wreck your gallery etc.

Please can someone tell me how it's done, and afterwards how do I (admin) sign in myself? ;D

Haha, and there was me trying to do all kinds of jazz like deleting the registration link etc ;D No wonder the gallery's collapsed 3 times on me in the past hour ;D
