I'm really sorry for posting a thread for a problem that you talked so much about, but i've been lurking the forum and searching for explanatory posts everywhere, finding solutions only to problems that were not exactly like mine! The only post i found is quite dead (last reply on august 6th). So, please, forgive me...
To make it short, as you can see by the subject of the thread, i've got some trouble uploading pictures. Well, exactly not "uploading" but confirming their placement in a album!
In fact pictures uploads goes well, and where you should compile the form with description, name, etc. the preview file shows correctly (differently from what happened to many users).

I really can't understand why confirmation button leads me to the page saying "file could not be placed"! Here some data that can be of help (i hope):

- Coppermine version: 1.3.2
- Directories chmodding: done (if it wasn't so, upload could not be possible, could they?)
- Gd libraries are fully compliant to coppermine needs, as you can read below, in the debugging result:

hope that you can be of any help, it would be a pity not to be able to make use of such a great piece of code  :)

Does it work if you batch add?
Have you tried setting the uploads to single file only, in the groups manager.  If not, try that, and see what happens.  You should at least get a full error message.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

no way, now it gives me a white page back :(

nevermind about the batch-add (appears like you haven't read the documentation about batch-add first). Do as Casper suggested: go to "groups" and change the upload method ("Upload form configuration") to "Single file uploads only" for the group your test user is in (usually the admin group). Then go to coppermine config and enable debug_mode (according to your screenshot you have already done that). Then click on "upload file" in the main navigation and try to upload a known-good jpeg file with small filesize and resolution (feel free to take a known-good small pic from our demo for testing purposes). Post the error messages you get (if any) here.

Problem has been solved

It was a ftp error...maybe some files got corrupted during upload. I've uploaded the entire gallery again and everything went fine!

You can delete this thread now, because it was not related to coppermine's errors.

Thx again, it's an awesome product, keep going guys :)

Joachim Müller

glad you were able to fix this. However, we never delete threads, as the sole point of having a forum is that others may benefit from your insight and solution.

Thx again
