Is there a way to disable images so that only admins can see them?

Yes, Change the album properties for view by admin only.

This can be done for albums but not individual pics within albums.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Ok thanks i've setup a album with just admin access and moving the images into that to disable them.
