Hello,

I am about to upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2.  I was reading the directions and it says

QuoteIf the file config.inc.php exists in the "include" directory, delete it.

and then a few lines later it says-

QuoteExcept for the "albums" directory, upload all of the new files and directories making sure not to overwrite the include/config.inc.php file or the albums directory.

If you delete the config.inc.php why do you have to be careful not to overwrite it? isn't it gone?

What am I missing?

Thanks,
Tobias

Casper

The instruction to delete it is for the directory you have downloaded, and is on your pc.

There will be a file include/config.inc.php on your server, and you MUST NOT delete that one, and it MUST NOT be overwritten by a new file when upgrading.  This is why the instruction to delete any in the folder on your pc is there, to avoid accidntally overwritting.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
