On the regular support board only English postings are allowed. There used to be a Spanish support board which got closed because nobody volunteered to moderate it. I'm moving your posting there, because Spanish-speaking users will probably look for it there.

Here's a rough translation of your posting:
QuoteHello all,

I have translated the complete documentation (version cpg1.4.x). I did so in my spare time, so it took several days to finish, but I decided to put up a link to it, hoping that it will help others

Thanks for your effort, we appreciate it. Are we allowed to include your translation with future releases? If yes, could you zip it up for easier integration into the core? Thanks in advance.

Joachim

Leny

OF COURSE YOU CAN!!

I will zip it when its finished... but if u need it before, i can do it anytime.  ;)

This is taking me long time because im translating word by word, point by point... no software is used. Isnt very practical way but better.

Im sorry for my posting... i put it there like u said but i dont know that i cant write in spanish in there.  :P

Regards.

IMO: I don't think the Spanish documentation should be packaged with the 1.4.19 v. Those documents are not translated completely. Less than 30%. I e-mailed the user time ago and he was interested about finishing his work, but he never did.

I almost finished translating the FAQ completely and quit because I was wishing the release of cpg 1.5. That was the reason I only add some FAQ to the Spanish sub-forum as Sticky post.

Cheers,

Hi Joachim,

jManuel has volunteered to translate the help icons (" ? ") texts that appear on the config panel. Despite I told you I don't like the idea that the 'index_es.htm' be part of the package of Cpg, this will help so much to a lot of users.

  • Would be easy to implement a piece of coding so when a user is under Spanish configuration and press a help icon < ? > jump to the 'index_es.htm' instead of 'index.htm'?

P.S: I think that with 500 post I will become 'cpg addict'. I'm anxious to be one of them.  ;D

cpg1.5.x will take care of this. The needed changes can't go into cpg1.4.x, as this would mean adding a new feature, which is something we don't do between maintenance releases. If someone is really ready to start translating, please take a look at http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,54673.0.html
The same thing that applies to what is being said about German applies to Spanish just as well.

Fabricio Ferrero

Understood. Remember that I posted in that topic some time so I'm aware of it. I didn't point the user to that topic because he was only interested on translating the help icons. Anyway, it's a pitty not be able to implement the feature I requested but I like the reason of it. I really want the cpg 1.5 be released. Thanks for checking this out.

Cheers for your 40,000!  ;)
