Hi there,
I hope that somebody out there will be able to help me.   ???
I just finished the installation of Coppermine 1.2.1 standalone, and when I pressed the Continue button after setting up the program, the following message appeared:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /usr/home/web/webxxxxx/Coppermine/index.php on line 260

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '\"' in /usr/home/web/webxxxxx/Coppermine/index.php on line 260
.
I'm new to php and mysql and I didn't make any changes in index.php. I managed to upload some photos and move around by using the adress line, but every time I pressed a new button the above mentioned message appeared.
My configuration is:
Windows 2000, language: Danish. I upload mysql and php on a unix server and my php is version 4.3.3. My provider does not support Image Magicks and  my Coppermine is set up to GD2.
Please tell me what to do ???

Casper

It's possible the index.php got corrupted somewhere between you downloading the package and uploading to the server.
Try downloading a new copy, and replacing the original on the server.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Hi Casper
I did that twice and the same error came up. I downloaded the program twice and imported it in Golive CS and uploaded it to the server again. It also showed a 'bug' in golive.

I'm not sure, but isn't golive a WYSIWYG editor? You mustn't touch any coppermine files with a WYSIWYG editor at all, just upload it using a plain ftp program (there are many available, even for free).

Hi there,
I deleted everything and started from scratch using Cute FTP to upload files. The error dissapeared. But a new problem came up.
>:(I can't configure the programme. When I push the finish button it can't find the page ???
I did run the CHMOD before installing ???

I found my mistake, and I'm running - thanks for helping me. :D
