Sorrym I answer this one myself. There's a bug in the script of the latest version.  :'(   not very good!

on line 118 you will see an }  this causes the error

Then we have different versions of that file. Line 118 shows nothing here.

Download coppermine again, preferably from another mirror and reupload the files.

Shouting "bug" is not a bright idea if you're not absolutely sure what you're doing. I rather guess that this is a case of PEBKAC.

Take a look at the original code: http://coppermine.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/coppermine/trunk/cpg1.4.x/ratepic.php?revision=3966&view=markup

Review your attitude!

The one thay put } in this file was also not knowing what he/she was doing so I'm in good company do't you think?

The "bug" doesn't exist in the original version of the file. Your copy of the file has gotten corrupted because of a handling mistake on your behalf (maybe because you have made a mistake using your FTP app). Don't behave like a moron. Do as suggested and get a clean copy of the file by re-downloading a fresh copy of the package, re-extract the file that got corrupted and replace the broken copy on your server with the fresh one.
If that file was broken in the package, don't you think that someone would have discovered this before you did? After all, there are thousands of coppermine galleries running on cpg1.4.13, and none of the users ever complained about this error before.
