Hello,

I had my host install my script, yes lazy. I cringe at messing around with my DB.

Any way.  It seems to work, except I can not upload files, I get the following error:

QuoteWarning: move_uploaded_file(./edit/mHTTP_temp_6e1ef0ab.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/jessec2/public_html/gallery/temp/upload.php on line 1156

Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/tmp/phpqw400Z' to './edit/mHTTP_temp_6e1ef0ab.jpg' in /home/jessec2/public_html/gallery/temp/upload.php on line 1156

Any thoughts on what to do to rectify this?

Casper

Yes, get your host to install the latest stable version, 1.2.1.

They have installed the beta version, which has this problem in the download, but is well documented on the 1.3 testing / bugs board.  If you want to read the sticky there regarding the edit/upload problem, you may be able to deal with this yourself.

Please note that version 1.3 has no support yet, as it is still in beta testing stage.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Thanks for the help Casper!  I'm glad to know its not me.  I'm having trouble finding the sticky.  Could you provide me with a link?

Thanks so much!

One more redundant message.  I'm sure these get tiresome..

In case my host is lazy and says fix it your self, even though I asked them to install the stable version.

What I need to do is, upload the new version of upload.php.  from the CVS.  Would you take that from the dev directory or the stable directory.

Also, do you need to upload the new /gallery/edit directory from the dev section which would be chmod to 777?

Forgive my ignorance!

hyperion

From /devel.

The edit directory should be in place already.  Just make sure it in /albums.

Get the upload.php here

As hyperion said, make sure the 'edit' directory is in the 'albums' directory, and chmod to the same as the album folder.

All right!  We're getting closer.  The host changed the upload file, and now

I have an error uploading again, this time in french:

Une erreur s'est produite pendant le téléchargement.

Followed by:

Warning: copy(upload.dat): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/jessec2/public_html/gallery/temp/freeupload.php3 on line 21

I translated the french with babel fish:

A s'est error produced during the remote loading

The edit directory is 777

What should I try now?

I'm not sure what to do about the french... or the error.

never heard of a file called freeupload.php3 Where did you get this from?

P.S. @devs: no support for cpg1.3.0 means no support imo. Don't you think you're carrying this a bit to far off? Why do you give support to Jesse and not to others as well who request the same? I know you're nice guys and you're trying to help, but after all Jesse is free to reply to existing posts on the cpg1.3.0bugs board if he comes up with any special issues or possible bugs we haven't already heard about. :-\

All I can say, is thanks to those that help me.  Maybe it is karma like luck that someone wants to throw a little advice my way.  Thank you to all, I have found my recent foray into open source scripts unbelievably inviting.  I'm so used to the exclusionist background of the art world, that it is a nice treat to have individuals offer advice, maybe even when they are not required or supposed too.

Ha Ha! do I detect a trace of sarcasm? No I don't think so...

Anyway - since the open policy is no support for 1.3 beta - I am locking this thread....

Do hang around, hopefully 1.3 Final will be done soon and do try to do install stuff yourself - you might still learn to program :)
