Hello,

I want to know what is the best version of Coppermine, I see that is the 1.3 but they didn't have any mod, add-on or hack... I want to switch to the 1.2 for the mod and hacks... because i want to use some hack like watermark, no right click and some others...

What you suggest to me ?

If mod or hacks appear for the 1.3 version can i upgrade the version ?

Thanks for the details you can give me...

cpg1.3.0 is the state-of-the-art version; most mods will work with it as well, and some are even integrated into it "out-of-the-box". If you install cpg1.2.1 now and apply any mods you will lose them if you upgrade to cpg1.3.0 later, as upgrading always means replacing the old files (and with it the mods).

Thanks,

So the mods for 1.2 or 1.1 are functional with the 1.3 ?

If it's true i'll keep the 1.3 version...

Most, not all.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Where are the mods who are functionnal with the 1.3 version... because i've tried to install the mod "AdvancedAlbumSorting" they give me a error ( i forgot it)

Thanks

PS : I've read that a new version 2.0 of Coppermine will be released ?

A lot of the mods have actually become part of 1.3.
Those that have not,  may, or may not work with it.  We do not, and could not, check all mods used in previous versions when testing and releasing newer versions.  It is likely the mod you want will work, with a bit of tweaking, but that is up to the mod author, or other interested parties (such as you) you do that, and publish.

So the answer to your question is, I don't know which work and which don't, and I doubt anyone knows the answer about all the previous mods.

As to version 2.  That is a long way off yet, still in the design stage really, although work is being done towards it.  The next full version will be 1.4 (currently under active development and testing), and before you ask, I don't know if the advanced album sorting will be in it.
