I unzipped the zip on my computer and uploaded the extracted files exactly like they were and while reading your documentation looked for install.php

Ive installed SMF and other applications in a similar way and noticed that install.php is usually right inside the main file loose with a bunch of php files rather than in the main file, in a folder somewhere...
I looked and looked and couldnt see it..anyway followed instructions and typed...the URL in my browser...well I got this:

Not Found
The requested URL was not found on this server.

So then I went to th zip file..well install was in there...it obviously is inside one of the folders somewhere...I did what I thought was logical and put a copy of that and some sort of CSS install file in the gallery folder and then it did this:

Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in /home/httpd/vhosts/kentamplin.com/httpdocs/gallery/install.php on line 30

Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in /home/httpd/vhosts/kentamplin.com/httpdocs/gallery/install.php on line 30

Fatal error: Failed opening required 'include/sql_parse.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /home/httpd/vhosts/kentamplin.com/httpdocs/gallery/install.php on line 30

Firstly...where is the install file hiding when you unzip the zipfile....what am I doing wrong because this part of the documentation seems simple and doesnt help me in any way...

Violindiva: Hmm... that is real interesting. It looks like you might have a corrupt zip file. Please try to download the file again and retry the install. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=89658

Well well well that was REAL interesting (to quote someone you know OMEGA) I downloaded 1.3.2  from a different mirror but when I unzipped it it was called CPG132 instead of gallery..and I had a peep inside the folder and install.php is there

Looks like you were right... I wonder if it is just my download that was corrupt or if the Sydney mirror itsself has a problem

OMEGA Coppermine should hire you.....

PROPS to you  ;D

Where did you try to do the first download from.  I know you used the sydney mirror, but did you get it from the downloads section of this site?

Our zips are not called 'gallery', but are cpg (plus version).
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
