I would like to categorize images separately. In that way it would be possible to have a set of pictures (album) in a folder but categorize them individually.
For example, I take a series of photo today in Paris. It might be buildings, people...
I want them all in a folder named Paris_200041112, but I wuld like to categorize the images differenlty.
Otherwise I have create a category called Paris_200041112, and that will cause more than 1000 categories, if I take pictures every day.

Please consider this.

In the next version, images will be able to appear in many albums, based on keywords.  So by adding the keywords to the pic, it will appear in all your albums.

So the pics of buildings you add today, with the keywords 'paris buildings 20041112', these images would appear in the paris buildings and 20041112 albums.

Tomorrow you add pics with keywords 'paris people 20041113' and they will appear in the paris people and 20041113 albums.

And so on.

I think this is what you want.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Well.
It would be really nice if it is "clickable" with subcategories.

Like Nature -> Animals -> Cats.
But if I understood you correct, we will be using a keyword search instead?
The categories works fine as  it is now, but I would like the option to categorize images instead of albums.

Actually, in real life, you would put photos into albums. You can't put them into categories, which is an intangible thing that helps you organize albums.
