Call me dumb guys but I was wondering when the newer version of coppermine was going to be released. I mean the one that is mentioned on the home page. Is that the 1.4 version some people are talking about?

OmegaGOD

It is currently in it's testing phase by the dev team and VIPs. When all testing is done, they will let you know. If you want to use the current Devel version of 1.4, you can download it and try it out. Note: There is ABSOLUTELY no support for the devel version as it is still under development :-)
Please do not PM me with support questions. Please read the manual and then if posting questions please place them in the proper sub-boards.

I would like to point out that whom OmegaGOD calls VIPs are actually people doing a largely thankless and lots of time frustrating job of beta testing... you are free to joing the legion if you dare to :D

we do not recommend using it on live sites yet, just test sites.

But whenever you do upgrade, now or later, you will not have to re-upload anything.  The upgrade keeps all existing files, comments, votes etc.

You lose nothing,
You gain all the extra features.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
