Password-protecting albums and linking to phpBB

Hi all,

My apologies if these have been asked and answered... I did searches and didn't find 100% resolution.

I'm trying to decide if Coppermine is right for us. Users must be able to password-protect their albums. Am I right in understanding that new latest version (1.4?) will allow this? But it is only in beta now? Any idea on release date?

Additionally, some of our users have indicated an interest in being able to restrict viewing of their albums to members of our phpBB who have made at least  xx number of posts, to prevent goofball lookyloos from voyeuristic activities. I believe I saw something mentioned on this site about Coppermine's compatibility with phpBB.  

Can potential members register but not be able to create albums until they've been approved by admin?

Can users' albums be divided into categories? (sorry; didn't look this one up. just thought of it! )

Well, you posted in a section called ' General discussion (no support!) ' - if you require support then you should post in one of the support sections. We also have a one question per thread policy. In additon most of your questions have already been addressed elsewhere on the boards, so search for the full answers.

1.4 has password protected albums, yes.
It is in beta, feel free to use it but understand it comes with no support whatsoever.
If we knew the date for the stable supported release that would mean we know what all the bugs are and exactly how long they would take to fix. Obviously we cannot know this, so the answer is always 'when it's ready'.
I expect you could restrict albums based on the number of posts, but it might take a minor mod to accomplish.
Yes, you can require admin approval for new members (search board), or you can make a special group for approved people with private albums rights and move new users into that group manually.
Users cannot create subcategories, just multiple albums in their user galleries section.
