Well, I know you can setup a private gallery by setting up a password, and I know you can create groups with different privileges, but I didn't find the way to do the following (but maybe it already exists).

I have 3 categories, each one including different albums
I want to create 3 user groups of registered users ( family, friends and others)

I want my family to be able to see all categories
I want my friends to see 2 categories
I want others to see just one category

Is it possible?

A more granular permissions system is being considered for future versions.  Being able to assign multiple groups to albums and have different read/write permissions for each would be a great addition and it's definitely on the to-do list, rest assured.
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.

Please make it a priority. ;-) I need that as well. I know its not a simple change since the whole users/groups/permissions system seems to need a revamp.

Right now I don't see how to let multiple people contribute to an organized gallery structue (like family and friends). Since I could not find a way to move an album from a user category into a public category even with an admin moderating the content I did not manage.

antx, please stop cross-posting. We're aware that users want this feature. Yet, coding for cpg1.5.x hasn't even started yet.
