I upgraded from cpg1.2.1 to 1.4.3 and now I've got a serious problem with bach adding files.

I searched the forum for this problem, but didn't find a solution. the nearest post to my prob was more then 120 days old and so I decided to open up this thread.

If I go go "Batch add files" in Admin Mode, i get the following problem:

I really don't know what to do after reading the threads I found and would be more than thankful if anybody could give me an advice or even a solution...

Set 'Browsable interface' to No.

wow, thank's a lot for your quick answer!

I did what you advised, still the same problem:

ok... made a checklist and went through step by step...

the solution is, that with older versions of cpg I had to upload into the "userpics" folder in which the old pictures still remain. with 1.4.3, images are directly stored in the "albums" folder, at least that's how i interpret.

so, why nod add a hint in the "upgrading" section of this website?

Maybe because the documentation tells you not to upload files into the userpics directory?
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.

You never were meant to upload to the userpics folder, in no coppermine version ever. The fact that you did all the time just means you did it wrong all the time. Since cpg1.3.0, we have added a check that keeps the userpics folder from being displayed during batch-add to force users not to use the userpics folder anymore. You can't blame us that you did things wrong all the time. The proper place where your FTP uploads should go to is explained in the docs, and has been explained in the docs of previous versions as well.

sorry I didn't mean to blame anybody here... ;-) I am very thankful for being able to use such a delicious piece of software for free and with such an easy interface.

so is there an easy way to correct my mistake? or should I just leave the old pictures in the userpics/blabla/... folders?

Tranz

Leave the photos where they are and create new folders in the albums folder and upload new photos in the new folders.
