The way I understand things, registered users can either always upload to their own personal gallery, or (apart from not being able to upload at all) upload files that need approval of the admin. Now, see, I don't like that. :)

I do not want every Tom, Dick and Harry be able to self-register and upload all kinds of illegal material. But once I have marked a registered user as trustworthy, I do not want that user having to await my approval for every file upload, either. CPG does not seem to offer a middle way; either every self-registered user can upload stuff to their own galleries, or they need constant permission for every upload.

What I want, is to have people be able to self-register, and send e-cards and such, without automatically having the potentially dangerous right to upload files. And only give them upload access, which will then be unsupervised, when I set that users as trustworthy.

Can this be done? Or am completely missing a combination of settings wich already makes this possible?

Thanks.

create another group and only allow that group to upload without admin approval
move your trusted users into that group
