I've looked all over... FAQ, search etc. but can't find a similar situation! So.. it must be me making a mistake somewhere..

Here is my problem. I got stucked with the "My Gallery" default category. I could changed it's name but that was about it. I can't delete it or upload pics to it. I can't move it anywhere...

I renamed it and moved it down the tree but it's empty and can't be used. Any ideas?... or redirect me to a previous post similar than this one... thx

You (as admin) should use public categories, not personal user galleries. Post a link to your coppermine-driven page for more details.

Thanks... the gategory that I can't actually use is the last one.

1) Don't use the personal (user) gallery then - use the public ones instead
2) You're running cpg1.4.2, upgrade asap to the most recent stable release (currently cpg1.4.8)

P.S. Actual gallery URL is http://www.gallery.theartgangster.com/

Thank you... I'll try it out and report back! :)

Thanks... Ive downloaded the upgrade and it seems to work. But, 'my gallery' perblem still exists... I've tried everything to get rid of that category but with no success.

Nibbler

It has an album in it. Remove that album and the category will not be displayed.

Thanks for the reply Nibbler. I've tried to do that but when I go to the "Album" section I get this:

"My Gallery"... (I changed the name to 'theArtgangsters Gallery') has no Album in it and I can't remove it

{Edit} I've changed the category's name back to "My Gallery" so it's easier to follow the problem :)

Stramm

set in the groups manager 'Personal gallery' allowed to 'No'

edit: and if you don't want the 'User galleries' to show up in the category list, then delete all albums in it as Nibbler already suggested. If there are 'hidden' galleries in it ->

Sorry... I don't find this info below anywhere in my gallery:

Quoteif the album is empty you won't see it. For that click 'properties' next to any visible (public) album. Now you'll see a dropdown box on the top right side. Look for user galleries here. User galleries can be found looking for () and the users name in it. Like '(Stramm) My Album'. Select the album, then click 'parent category' (left of the dropdown). Magic... you'll now see the empty album and can hit the 'delete' button

The ONLY place where I see this album in 'my gallery' category is when I go to "Admin tools"... scroll down > in the drop down box at the very end of the page...

sanax

Ok... eventually I found the problem! Thanks for the help... can I set the "Personal Galleries" in GROUPS back to yes? I'd like to have users upload their own pics... thanks again!

Stramm

sure... but I still don't understand your problem. 'My gallery' is the users personal gallery
