I just switched to this and I am really happy with it so far.

I uploaded my albums from phpnuke to coppermine intergrated with vbulletin

They only category that I will have is Rant Girl Of the MOnth on my site

If you go to the gallery page:  http://www.sportsrant.com/gallery/index.php

you will see that I have the albums named by month and Year.  But the Feb 2004 girl is down at the bottom

How can I get her to show up at the top, specially if I want to show just one album at a time

ALSO

Is there a way to remove the catedory and just show the albums

Thanks

Mike

  • log in as admin
  • admin mode
  • go to album manager (click "albums" in admin menu)
  • select the category that applies
  • higlight the album you want to put at the top by clicking it once
  • use the arrow icons to move it upwards
  • click "Apply modifications"[/list:u]

Hi sportsrant,

as you are only using one category, you can get rid of the cat display by simply changing your link to the page.

Your cat is cat 3, so change your link;

from
http://www.sportsrant.com/gallery/index.php

to
http://www.sportsrant.com/gallery/index.php?cat=3

Then it will always go straight to the albums page.

Also, if you want to get rid of the coppermine menu, simply edit them out in themes/yourtheme/theme.php
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

if you only have one category and you don't plan to add further categories in the future, why have a category at all? Simply move all your albums to "root level", so they're not within a category any more (or, to be more correct: they are in category "0"). Your users won't have to click their way through your category, they will never end up "dead" on a category page without albums, and you won't have to modify any code...

you mean move each entire album to the root folder of coppermine, or above the categories.

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it

Joachim Müller

yes, that's what I was suggesting: move each album to coppermine root.

okay I did that with one album and it showed a red x then I moved it back and it came back.  When i move all the albums to the root folder, is there a path issue that I need to correct?  that is what I am not  understanding

Casper

No need to move the albums on the server, just go to album properties, and in the dropdown category bo, move it to '*No Category*'.

Do this for all your albums, then go to config, and remove 'catlist from your 'contents of main page'.  This should leave you with the look you want.

casper's right (as always). Never touch the file/folder structure within "albums" once the pics are inside the database - always use coppermine's built-in tools!
