Hello !

 :?: Is it possible for an absolute beginner to use the photo album ??

I came across a site today that uses it and I just loved the clean look and it worked really well .

Casper

Hi snoopy,

short answer, yes, if you can understand the docs, which are in english.

Although I had put up a couple of amaturish websites before, I had never used any php application, or a web based database before.

I had a good look around before I got up the bottle to have a go myself, but found it much easier than I expected.

And if you can't find the answer to something, just ask here.

Good luck,  :wink:
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Coppermine is easy to install and run, you are only likely to have probs if you try to run it from your own server, get a decent host and coppermine is pretty straight forward. I actually learnt most of my PHP/MySQL through playing around with coppermine.

Sounds good ,  :D
 I have a host . ....what exactly do I have to ask them to do . I'm used to uploading a website using ftp .
 :?: Is that what is meant by load up to your server ?

Nibbler

Make sure the server you are uploading to has the following:

- Good webserver (Apache recommended);
- PHP (4.1.0 or better);
- MySQL (3.23.23 or better; 4.x recommended);
- either GD or ImageMagick (any version);

Then unzip and upload the coppermine files with ftp, and run the install.php
