Hi All,

While searching for a bit of stray bytes on the information superhighway, I came across this very cool WordPress theme called Foliage Mod by Derek Punsalan - http://5thirtyone.com/foliagemod/. I've been getting some positive feedback from WordPress users on the themes that I've ported lately and with this one being quite unique from what I've done, why not add this one to the collection.

QuoteThe tiny bits of eyecandy are powered by the fabulous script.aculo.us library.
To access some of the items on a typical webpage or gallery such as links and title, you pull the tab to have them slide down into view. I've put the {SYS_MENU} tag there along with the title, description and some links and you can also have your welcome message there. If one uses their imagination, this could be used for a lot of fun!!  ;)

I've increased the main content area to allow for all the Config items to fit properly and to be able to show larger images. Other than this, this is all I've done to the style_wp.css file. Instead of integrating the WordPress style sheet into Coppermine's, I've left it separtate so that if anyone wants to make design changes then all they have to do is copy the style sheet from WordPress to Coppermine (of course this can go the other direction as well  ;)).

If you have any script issues, please check out Derek's blog above as many have been addressed for WordPress so this information will be useful but in most cases this shouldn't be a problem for an unmodified gallery installation. I've tested this in Firefox 1.5x and IE 6.0x with no issues. Obiviously Javascript needs to be enabled for the pull tab to function so there's a warning that appears when loading the page.

Enjoy!

Billy  :D

Oh, wow. I pulled the string (labelled "pull" for apparent reasons ;)) many times. Really a nice one.

My heart was pounding with anticipation that this theme would work on the demo gallery.  :) Man... I am so glad it does. There are a lot of possibilities for this theme that I hope people exploit.

Comments... comments... let's hear some comments!

[edit] Dang! I forgot to put the PSD files back in the zip folder before posting. These files will allow you to change the color scheme if you so desire. They are attached here. Sorry.

Very nice Gizmo, I was going to suggest this theme to you when I PM'd you, but I thought that would be too pushy considering you've been doing so many WP themes lately..Excellent job man!

May I make a suggestion...

Since you do such an awesome job at WP themes, maybe there should be a poll thread for WP themes so it can be seen which ones are most sought after.  Mine was Blix (there is a widgetized version of it now), but danuvious is working on it.

My .02$

Again, great job.

Thanks Guys! I've started working on a version of this that's focussed on a photography theme so I'll post it when done.

I don't know if I'm the only one with this, but I have a small problem when displaying the shelf extended in IE.  See http://thefabhouse.com/tmp/foliage_shelf.jpg . See the black block on either side.

Confirmed here too.

Nice theme !!!

Gizmo

I've checked this on FF & IE on several systems without any problems. What mods have you done to your galleries? If you post a link to your gallery then maybe we can get to the bottom of this.

Media, I couldn't load the Foliage theme on your gallery. Did you change the name or remove it?

My gallery is here (I won't leave the link here long as it's our personal family gallery).

No mods (to the core) that I can think of at the moment.

I'm noticing also that some of the thumbnails are not loading occasionally - could definitely be my end because it's so random...

rphMedia

OK, I think this is going to be computer system effect and not a theme design flaw.

When I scroll (in IE) and return to the top, the said blocks are fading erratically.  So, this is obviously a screen refresh issue vs. IE.

I have a quick capture of what I'm talking about here so you understand what I mean. I'm guessing there's nothing we can do about that short of maybe upgrading our video cards ?  :-X

Gizmo

Hi Media,

I checked your site in both FF & IE and they load fine. I see this problem on certain sites (sometimes on this forum) randomly so it's probably a browser issue. Try googling for this issue.

Yeah, I'll look into it.

One more thing (not a real big issue): the theme ignores my maintable config setting of 100%.  I may like it better the way it is, but I'd like to be able to see what it would look like.

Gizmo

I'll check too. As for
Quotethe theme ignores my maintable config setting of 100%.
It's not ignoring it but rather doing as it's suppose to. I have the div that surrounds the maintable set to 650 pixels. If you want to change the width, you have to increase the content style in the style_wp.css file.

Hah ... that's the only file I didn't look into, 'cause I thought it was 'WordPress' specific.

Thanks, Gizmo !  A cool theme to say the least.

Fabrian

I don't have any mods at all, this is a fresh 1.49 test install.  After reading some replies since my last, I guess I'll have to look into issues with IE or the three boxes I've accessed my site from.

Sorry Fabrian, I've checked your site in both FF & IE from my end and things look good.

Just curious, what version of IE do you have?
