I cannot understand how to accomplish two things.

1).  How do I get rid of the default category?  I've changed it's name and I don't mind having it but it won't allow me to add sub-categories to it like you can with others your create yourself.

2).  Say I were to create two categories, Acura and Honda.  I would like to allow users to create their own galleries but, only within the two categories of Acura and Honda.  How do I accomplish this?  I see how I allow users' own galleries.  I see how to create the other two categories.  I just can't seem to restrict users to creating their own galleries only within just the designated categories only though.

yowow

yep i also have same question about 2) how can i create User galleries for each category that way user can create album in the categorie they want.
For example I have gallery for three different category for Cat Dog and Fish
I want user who owns a Cat able to create album in cat etc etc
basically ability to create mulitple user gallery is this possible?

It's not possible the way you ask.

Users can only create albums in the 'user galleries' category.
you cannot have sub-categories in user galleries.

The only way to 'turn off' user galleries is to remove the rights for any group to have personal or private albums, and delete any existing user albums, then the category will not beshown.

There are 2 workarounds for what you want, but both require work by you, especially if you have lots of members.

1.  You create the albums for them, in the various categories.

2.  Get your members to create their albums in the usergroups, then move them to the categories you want them in.  This requires some playing with the database though, see this thread for how to.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
