RedHair,

   Be carrefull, i can put a "-2 Karma" just fo fun !  ;)  ;D  :D

Finally,  perhaps my concept was too new for major the part among you. When I say "You", I do not think only about Copper World, but also of those outside.  ;D

Never mind... 2012 appointment now (-:

lol... you seen me trying some url's out to adjust my karma?
I noticed the links under avatars all over a suddon.... and couldn't resist  ;D
Good sysadmin, ...but still ..poor logo design...that is, it would suit a 500CC GP race very nicely.

Hi all, new here.  8)
I read you took the voting option out of the running. Sorry to hear about the cheating.  ::)
Anyway, posted comments on the three I liked best.

How long will the competiotion be? No new submissions are accepted.
Those who wanted to vote - had already done that. Almost no new votes/comments are added through weeks.
So what are the results?

Viktor.

Joachim Müller

Some devs/contributors had asked to have the voting stage prolonged. I'm waiting for their signal to see the voting stage closed.

Tweak

Seeing that the voting is taking its time, I'd like to mention a few things for the sake of CPG finding a quality logo that nearly all the devs and contributors can be happy with.

In general, many of the designs are great ideas, and some work in ways others don't.  For usage on all kinds of mediums, most logos shouldn't have a problem, but it seems that the more and more submissions and comments we have about the logos, the less we think of many people's creations.  This is of course beneficial to finding a well thought-out logo, but it is almost as if the designers of the logos really should have a 2nd chance after hearing what people say.  The constructive criticism from both the public and the developers (who are really desiring a sweet logo for their software) is really useful to making finishing touches or complete changes to the logo design.

I know one person could submit several design ideas, I only submitted one, but I still wish I could submit even more designs, as I have so many other ones that would fit the criteria people are asking for here on the forum or in the comments of a logo.  If you do pick a winner, I wouldn't just make the logo which we see on the gallery the 100% final product. I think it needs some closer communication from the developers to make final adjustments and/or see what other ideas the designer can come up with.  I for one would love to make something very custom for CPG's logo, draft after draft for the design of the logo... but seeing that this is a competition, that process is eliminated altogether because the public expects something closely matching to that of what they voted for.  Making a logo to fit the needs and have a good result, that step by step process is needed.  Being community driven with contributions is great and all, but when it comes to the decision of the developers, they might not get what they expected either.

Hard to explain with it being so late/early right now, but I hope you understand.  And to be quite honest, I wish I could re-do my submission and/or submit dozens of other news ones for you guys to choose from.  Not that I am unhappy with my current submission, I just feel I could please more expectations by doing another set which fits everyone's criteria.  And I am sure others feel the same way.

We can't give 2nd chance to all the designers as it will again take the same amount of time to reach any conclusion. But what we can do is, shortlist say top 5 or 10 designers and ask them whether they have any other choices to offer and then may be developers and contributers/supporters to vote for them again.

I second Aditya's idea to start another round for the top 5 (or so) logo artists - this will give both the artists the chance to come up with even better logos (as Tweak suggested) and will give the dev team a chance to come up with a better method to determine the final winner.

[Update]
I suggest asking the top 7 contributors (rikhter, tweak, Browny, h4nh4n, julala, cyque, Tanjo) to participate in a second round. I will lock the voting stage now.

Yes I agree with this. It's the better way to have a hight quality logo.

Coppermine deserves a top class logo imho. I agree with this a 100%. All good things take more time ;)

rikhter

Second round is a good idea :)

How it will be organized?
How to submit images (via e-mail/gallery)?
Deadline for round two?

Abbas Ali

We will let the top 7 contributors know about that as soon as we work out the guidelines of second round.
