Hello there

I've written a program (in vb.net) to generate image files and need the ability to upload to Coppermine without user intervention, ie with a single click (after the user specifies name, password and gallery). FTP is not allowed. There appear to be a couple of options but I can't get any of them working. The options are..

1) Running Web Publishing Wizard with paramaters so it uploads automatically

Problem - can't get parameters right, not sure if this is possible

2) Directly injecting the images into the MySql database using the mysql dll

Problem - Seems a bit risky, not sure how user id and password and albums would work

Does anyone have any other suggestions for this, or maybe suggestions on how I can get 1) working (or maybe 2) though 1) is my preferred option).

Try the Coppermine API (originally designer for Koppermine, a KDE uploading client): http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=17097.0

I've actually already tried that - there's no documentation though so I have no idea where to start with it. I'm currently trying to start XP Publishing Wizard with paramaters to upload automatically but that's not working. I'm still having a play with the API though but I'm not a php guy so I'm a bit stuck.

Can you http post the file to db_input.php?

Hey fella

Mmm, that's an idea. I'm looking into that one as it could be a working route for my program, I'm just struggling a bit to work out what the parameters are for db_input.php - as I said, I'm not really a PHP person so it's a bit of a struggle. However, using that does obviate the need for the api so it could be the route to follow so people can use it for vanilla Coppermine installs.

Thinking ahead slightly, I was hoping to write a dll for .net so it would be easier to develop a desktop application to manage your Coppermine pics (Woppermine maybe :-) but using db_input.php wouldn't do as we'd need to get a list of albums, etc so I think it's back to the API for that part.

In the mean time though it would be great if you could help me out a little with db_input parameters - this is really frustrating me as it should be easy but I seem to get stumped at every hurdle - the only way to upload with my app is ftp - someone has offered me free hosting on a Coppermine install and I'd love to be able to offer people the chance to upload their pics to Coppermine with one click as it's make life much easier for them.

Cheers
K
