MrHank

hi there allaround,

in first, sorry for my bad english.
in second, my problem;

i work around with coppermine since a year or so.
the pics ive been uploading everytime via ftp and than added them with the batchprocess.

no problems until here. but if gd library creates the thumbs und normal sized images, they are full of errors - you can see on pics.tistside.de
the original size images are untouched of this error.

whatever, i said to myself "okay, than another way... just resize and rename the images on my pc. than i'll upload em and everythin is fine."

yes it would be, if i hadnt forget to change the chmod to 0755 before first uploading. now the images on my ftp i cant change - the only way is to delete all and reup them.

but ive only got a 28.8k modem :D I cant upload them all again - over 50megs!

thanx for any reply...

If the thumbs that coppermine creates are full of errors, you should correct this in the first place - since the creation of thumbs and intermediate pics is what coppermine esentially is about.
Since you're on a slow connection, you shouldn't upload big full-sized pics in the first place, but resize them on your client before uploading - as a rule of thumb, 1024x768 (or even better: 800x600) should be enough for a fully.
If you have fixed your problem with the creation of thumbs/intermediates, you can use the resize tool from the admin menu to rebuild your thumbs, no re-uploading necessary.
Frankly, I didn't understand your problem: the pics on your page seem to work fine. If they don't, please post a deep link to pics that don't work, as I'm not going to watch all your pics to find out which ones don't work.

P.S. I can't understand why anybody should use a 28.8 modem, since 56k modems have been available for ages at no price (which should double your speed)

MrHank

because i'm not one of those highspeed lamers with dsl ;D

finally today my 56k arrived, also a isdn card is mine now. but - problem is problem ;)

There, look at the normal sized and then just klick on it to open the big one. you see the difference.
the fully images ive on 1280 because some users like to print the pictures ..

Okay, whatever. The Problem is that ive still got 1.1.0 - yah sorry. I know this is the 1.2.0 but i'm scared to update :D i tried that and i had to do a completeley new design... no time...

How can i delete only the thumbs? Via ftp it doesnt work, the script chmod'ed the files to 0644 - only script ist is allowed to change anything.
But i dont want delete all files and have to reup them :|

thanx, byebye,

Hi Tistside.de,

this looks like you have GD2 on the server, but coppermine set to GD1.  Check your config setting is GD2, upload 1 good pic, and if it works, this was the problem.

You will then use the re-size utility to re-build the thumbs and intermediates that are affected.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

MrHank

hey casper,

big thnx - you were right.
last time i checked the phpinfo (...a year ago?) i had 1.62... and now there are also many other plugins i didnt have... hmm nice, seems like my hoster just added a couple of things without informing me.

in my luck they let register globals turned on ^^

thx again
